GoldStar is a South Korean electronics company established in 1958. The corporate name was changed to LG Electronics and LG Cable on February 28, 1995, after merging with Lucky Chemical. LG Cable was spun off from LG Electronics and changed its name to LS Cable in 2005.
Zenith Electronics, LLC, is an American research and development company that develops ATSC and digital rights management technologies. It is owned by the South Korean company LG Electronics. Zenith was previously an American brand of consumer electronics, a manufacturer of radio and television receivers and other consumer electronics.

In July 2018, Koo Kwang-mo, is the new CEO of LG. He is the nephew and adopted son of Koo Bon-moo. Koo Bon-moo adopted his nephew in 2004, after losing his only son in 1994.
On 20 May 2018 Koo Bon-moo died.
In 1995 Koo Bon-moo took the leader of the company (He is the son of Koo Cha-kyung). And renamed the company to LG in that year and associates the letters LG with the tagline "Life's Good".
In 1969 the founder Koo In-hwoi die and his son Koo Cha-kyung took the leadership.
In 1983 both companies Lucky and GoldStar merged to form Lucky-Goldstar.
In 1958, The company expanded its business and established GoldStar Co. Ltd. (now LG Electronics Inc.).
In 1952, became the first South Korean company to enter the plastics industry.
In 1947, LG Corporation was established as Lak Hui Chemical Industrial Corp. by the founder Koo In-hwoi. Lak Hui (락희) (pronounced "Lucky"; now LG Chem).
